View Full Version : Insulin for cutting?

Basically I have come into 400 IU's of insulin and am currently running 400mg of test enth a week and on a cutting diet.... which restricts my carbs on workout days to around 100-120g a day 60 of which are PWO and a bunch pre workout anyway.. my question is if I were to say run 4 IU's IM PWO with a 40g shake then eat again 1h later with another 20g of carbs in a carb/pro meal would I continue to loose weight or would it be more likely that I would store fat? and I am only talking about 5 days a week PWO...for say 2-4 weeks on and 2-4 weeks off....

bro, you wanna be able to eat plenty of carbs while doing slin. the shit can be dangerous especially on a carb restricted diet. save it for between cycles or while bulking. i'm sure it can be done, but in my opinion you need to know what your body can tolerate and if you have to ask then you don't have enough experience. not intended as a flame just want you to be safe...

I am very well aware of the risks thats why I asked... I was just wondering if it was possible... and ofcourse the idea was crossing my mind but after thinking it through and getting an answer on another board I'm goona wait till pct so I can carb up and see how old lady slin effects me...

You can cut on slin...you can bulk on slin...either way you must be careful...bottom line with slin...eat fat get fat...eat good look good...

I usually don't answer questions that have already been answered in the same thread, but since you didn't clarify which type of insulin you have, I'll make this exception. If you insist on using insulin in a serious cutter, you MUST use Humalog. Going hypo is NOT fun. Humalog is the only "safe" insulin to use while carb depleting. Even Humalog doesn't kick in immediately. It peaks right at an hour after injecting. Personally, I could take 6ius of Humalog and immediately drink a cup of Log Cabin syrup and if I don't eat something at the 1 hour mark, I start feeling like shit. Some brave guys use insulin to send their bodies into ketosis. Taking 4ius and not eating enough isn't going to kill you. It will, however, scare the shit out of you.
To answer your question...Yes, you can use insulin during a cutter, but only in low doses, only Humalog, and only if you are prepared to go hypo and not panic (easier said than done).

Yes Its humalog I know that other types of insulin are longer acting and the risk is great to run them because you have to watch going hypo over a period of time... Ive been reading a great deal over this topic I was just wondering about cutting with it and thanks for the info...

Cutting or bulking its always a good idea to let someone close to you know that you are taking slin. Let them know the side effects & what to watch out for cause as you should already know it can hit hard & fast.
Are you using it to compete?

Naaa Just doing a Moch competition prep if you will, trying to dial in my diet and training and see how I look at the end of a cutter...But I am definetly contemplating competing in the future... Generally I just lifted to put on mass.. This would be my first real lean summer... In fact I was only keeping this simple IE Test clen+t3/t4... But a friend of mine keeps talking about HGH and slin he jumped right on, I was a little more skeptical so I been doing alot of research... So I can learn everything I can, I know slin is lethal if not takin properly thats why I've been posting on multiple boards asking the questions I have...

i am with Enanthanator Slin can be used either way, mass or cutting. I justed used for 8 weeks 3x per week with hgh and igf I used Gavin's protocol. worked great stayed lean, used with my pct and ket most of gains from previous AAS cycle Will be doing again soon Be careful!!!

i'd invest in a glucometer too if you haven't already. saved my ass a time or two. like the guy above said going hypo the first time wigged my ass out. lol

Useing it to put yourself into ketosis is a method of cutting that has been around for a while. I am useing slin right now even though it is summer to bulk up as I dont plan to have another 13 or so months b/c competing. Just be carefull. I use R and after morning shots I eat alot after 30 minutes, a small snack @ 2 hours, another large meal @ 5 hours and a snack @ 7 hours. Post workout shots I drink wieght gainer, then eat dinner, then have a snack, then have a shake b/f bed. I have used it enough to be comfortable taking naps and going to sleep while its still active in my system as lonf as I know I have eaten enough.

Slin isnt for the novice,ive been using it for bulking and cutting and what works well for me doing cutting cycle is a high carb and protein meal 1hr befor i train then just 15min before im pumpn weights i use 10iu humalog and train,always have carbo cola on standby,listen to the body,i can tell the very early signs through trial and error over the years and dont get hypo but remain pretty close....half way through i drink the cardo cola and BCAA and glutamine,when im fini i take a reading useing a glocometer and if all good take another 5iu postwrkout with protein shake with bananas and glutamine+bcaas.....while im cutting im on ass and t3 and eca ....works very well for me but be careful and listen to your body and stay tuned.
