In the US, steroids are a Schedule III controlled substance, importing it is a felony. Have I got that right?
But how about HGH?

i don't think it's classified yetThere's a big difference with IGF1. HGH is available on prescription, but IGF1 is not.

BUMP:
According to my copy of "Legal Muscle" neither HGH nor HCG are controlled in the state of FL. I just dont know how current that info is. Anyone know if HGH is contolled anywhere in the US yet?

It may not be controled (but I think it is) but it will be a charge for importing it without prior consent if you are cought. .
but wouldn't the company you buy it from be the one charged with importing?

No, they are EXporting, who ever receives them in IMporting.

What's the most likely outcome if customs takes your order of hgh? What are the chances of being prosecuted? Should a fake name be used when ordering?

hGH is not controlled, so the DEA is not involved.
It is a federal offense to receive misbranded drugs. The feds' definition of "misbranded" includes unlabeled and mislabeled drugs, as well as drugs that you do not have a prescription for. Yeah, I know. Makes a ton of sense.
The FDA checks those out. If your hGH gets seized, since it's not controlled, you will probably just get a letter. The FDA has fewer resources available for this kind of thing than DEA does. Unless you're a professional athlete. Then expect a Waco-style raid.

Now here is the $4,000 question: if the source offers to re-send, is the risk of seizure now higher? Is a second seizure bound to lead to more serious consequences than the first? It's a year's worth of GH...

Been there, done that. Hold your water. If it's coming from the same place I got mine (Southern Hemisphere), it takes a while. Even after it hits the docks. Same thing happened to me.
GH is considered a "legend drug" in most states, which means that it is a prescription drug that hasn't been scheduled. If they catch you with enough to look like you're selling it, they can ring you up for distributing.
