Does anyone use Humalog pre and post workout?

I workout at 6:30am with only about 6-10 total work sets per muscle group and it takes me about 45 minutes to complete.

5:00am Start the day off with egg whites, oatmeal, banana, and skim milk. Shoot 4iu Humalog. ECA stack. Glutamine. Creatine. 1/3mg Arimidex.

6:30am Workout 45 minutes. Sip a meal replacement shake during the workout with some glutamine & creatine and I'll have lots of extra sugar in my workout bag like chocolate bars and juice since its halloween! haha. I'm also going to monitor my blood sugar levels every 15 minutes (3x during wo) to start just to make sure. My training partner will know whats up and whats going on.

7:30am After my workout 1-2 chicken breasts, 2 cups cooked rice, broccoli, and a glass of cranberry or orange juice. 6iu Humalog. Creatine. Glutamine. Vit C. Vit E. Beta Carotene.

9:00am Meal Replacement Powder.

12:00pm Chicken. Potato. Broccoli. ECA stack. Cytomel.

3:00pm Cottage Cheese. Fruit.

5:00pm Treadmill 30 minutes @ 12% incline % 2.5 to 3.0mph no hands and maybe 15 minutes of stairs right after.

6:00pm Steak. Salad.

9:00pm Flexible meal. 10mg melatonin.

I'll also be shooting 500-1000iu HCG once a week.

I try that years ago and didn'like it, mainly because my head wasnt clear, thinking about eating and keeping blood sugar in chek would distract me from my workout zone, on top of that its still more usefull to get it right after, as Im sure u know why, then next workout still feel an excellent pump, so insulin pre workout didnt really make a difference.Next week I will start it again after about 7 years without, I will do the post workout method, starting with 4iu and upping every week until 10iu, and see how it go.
Question: I see u are taking cytomel with it, I never thought of that, have u done it before?Any experience and results with it?

I can't see the point since humalog has an onset of 10-15 minutes and has a duration of 4 hours.
it would be better to take your second injection of humalog 4 hours after your first

Well I should have mentioned that I'm dieting down right now. My goals are, since I'm six weeks off steroids, to hopefully maintain some size and help recovery since I'm training hard.

I workout in the mornings with my partner and do cardio in the evenings with my wife. So I want to try to be very anabolic around my workouts and consume most (3/4r's) of my carbs around this time. In the afternoon to evenings when I'm doing cardio I drop the carbs down.

When I shoot 10iu of humalog in the mornings after my workouts (8am) and another 10iu in the afternoon I end up gaining some fat weight. Where as if I stick to just a post workout shot and eat like 75% of my carbs around that time I don't gain as much fat and I actually think I look tighter.

Humalog takes about 75-90 minutes to peak for me. If I took a small shot at 5am my peak would be 6:30am when I start my workouts. If I shot the rest of my 10iu shot (remaining 6iu's) post workout, around 8am, my peak would be 9:30am. By noon humalog shouldn't be that active anymore. So lets say from 6am to 12pm I'd be very anabolic. During those six hours I'd consume ~ 250 grams of carbs and 150 grams of protein using mostly egg whites, chicken, and some meal replacements for the quick carbs and protein.

But I see what your saying Alchemy maybe it might end up better to shoot 4iu in the morning at 5am and then rather than post workout 8am wait an hour or two and shoot another 4iu around 9 or 10am. It would be in my system until 2-3pm, where I'd drop my carbs and do some cardio.

I'm just curious to know what a safe pre workout measurement of humalog would be. Start off with 2iu and work up each week?

Oh yeah, I've taken cytomel before but never with insulin.

That would be the way I would be doing it especial with IM or SQ injections .

I'm just curious to know what a safe pre workout measurement of humalog would be. Start off with 2iu and work up each week?


Yep , start at 2iu and you can build it up to 10iu pre workout.You may need to increase your carb intake especially whilst training

to dangerous for me to do Preworkout. Don't want to have to worry about sugar if workout is too intense. PWO only for me and is much safer and more predictable.

i am also strictly a pwo guy, but if it is working for you bro then stick with it.

Haven't tried it yet. So far I've read preWO may contribute to some strength gains and a pump but without anabolics I'm not sure slin will do much of anything but help speed recovery a bit so maybe postWO is best for my situation. Plus at the moment I'm doing a HIT/MaxOT type of program so I don't want to be taking slin just before an all out set of squats or deads although I'm sure it may be done. Still debating. Not sure. I'm sure I'll give it a shot some day LOL.

What fucking states do you guys live in where you can get humalog? I can only get humalin R and N here in NY, wich sucks b/c I can only use on weekends b/c during the week I dont finish my workout untill 6:30-7:00pm

I live in Canada and just pick it up at the pharmacy. I've never even had to pay for it.

I get good pumps from low dose pre workout slin, like less than 5iu. I drink a carbo drink during the workout as well as some isopure.

some canadian pharmacies will ship log to the states without a script. you have to do some hunting, but there a still a few out there.

200 grams kangaroo
1 Cup Jasmine Rice

For those who have used slin pre-workout do you notice more size gains or just a better pump? I mean if the gains are the same then post workout would be safer. Also how hard are you training? Do you take your work sets to failure?

the pumps i get are fantastic...

its hard to tell the size gains... im looking much fuller and vascular...

weight is up alot... but ive just upped my calories alot from when i was dieting...

i train balls to wall... 16-20 exercises 8-12 reps... most till failure.

i never feel drowsy or any insulin related symptoms...

before using this protocol i found some info that alc had posted previously...

with 10iu you need to consume 100 grams of simple carbs , with 30 iu you will need 300 grams of simple carbs.

which one is better ? that will depend on your experience with insulin

im interested in trying this even though im dieting down using hGH /armour thyroid/ and some HRT scripted stuff... i just finished IGF and i feel flat since i came off it even though ive been sick.

id like to get that extra IGF boost from adding slin to my 5-6iu of hGH per day but am afraid of gaining fat since im pretty carb sensitive, but i figured maybe the gains id get would be worth it, have no problem avoiding fats while its still in my system and maybe the added muscle from that combo with the hGH would actually help burn more fat.

was only planning on using up to 10units PWO 3-4x per week on my workout days where i eats up to 200-250g of carbs, on my off days i try to stay as low as possible, ALTHOUGH i might start carb cycling again and get serious cutting my carbs in half from that 200-250 on tues and fri workouts from the higher carbs on the mon /thurs workouts... in that case id probably just have a small amount of carbs preworkout and take in my 125g carbs PWO split into 2 meals after the log.

going back on igf in another 3 weeks or so and wondering what the combo of that in addition would do since idlike to finish the year offwith a big bang looking sick and being bigger adn leaner than ever before i cruise and maintain for awhil
